Belt Drive Openers
There are three variations among garage door opener drive guides when it comes to trolley systems. The belt drive opener system is considered top because it has the power of the chain drive guide but it is also very quiet. Belt drive openers work exactly like chain ones but the results are better. Belt drives are actually rubber belts. It is steel reinforced with rubber. What this basically means is that its movement is smooth since there is no contact among steel parts. Vibrations are avoided and so the whole movement is smooth and there is hardly wear of the door and the opener.

The belt drive gets its power from the motor found in the opener unit. It moves and transfers this power to the trolley, which transfers the power to the door arm, which will slide back and open the door or will come back and close it down. The advantage of belt drive opener systems is that this entire movement is silent thanks to the rubber belt. The belt will still travel along the opener's rail just like regular chain guides do.
Since this type of opener drive is steel belted, it gives tremendous power to the system. Belt drives work with motors of all horsepower dynamics and their only disadvantage is that they cost more than the other two opener drive types. This is due to their durability and quiet operation and the cost can be justified if there are adjacent living areas.
